In this article, we will be comparing the premium models of the Camon 18 series and its successor, the Camon 19 series.
TECNO Camon 18 Premier vs Camon 19 Pro: Spec Sheet
Design and Display
The Tecno Camon 18 Premier came with a unique design and feel. It features what Tecno calls silky glass. This glass (on the rear of the device) will switch colors depending on the way the light ray is directed at it. Cool right? Furthermore, it is designed with rounded edges with a flat frame. This smartphone has a thickness of just 8.15mm, which makes it a portable device to handle. The Camon 19 Pro, on the hand, features an entirely new design – something we haven’t seen on a TECNO device before. It features the trendy box-like design we’re beginning to see with Android smartphones. The Camon 18 Premier comes with a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Camon 19 Pro comes with a slightly larger 6.8-inch IPS LCD display, also with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother display interaction.
Camera
Considering that the Camon 18 Premier gave us the best camera experience we’d seen in the Camon series when it launched, we expected an even better camera setup on the new Camon 19 series, but that wasn’t the case. While the new Camon 19 series feature amazing lenses (64-megapixel main sensor + 2-megapixel depth sensor + 50-megapixel telephoto sensor), the Camon 18 Premier standout, in my opinion. It features a triple 64MP + 12MP + 8MP camera setup. It also supports 60x hyper zoom.
Hardware
There isn’t much difference between both smartphones in this area. They are both powered by the MediaTek Helio G96 processor, and they both feature 8GB of RAM. The Camon 18 Premier is backed by a 4,750mAh battery with 33W fast charging through the USB-C port, while the Camon 19 Pro comes with a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Finally, the price of the Camon 18 Premier at launch was $350. The new Camon 19, on the other hand, will be selling for a recommended retail price of $275.
