Hive Colab is an innovation-focused collaborative co-working space for the technology community of Uganda. They support local capacity building for creation of impact-driven innovations for social and economic development in Uganda and the continent.

The collaborative space has seating capacity of almost 50 people in the open space, dedicated tables, and high speed internet in a conducive working environment. Programmes include structured incubation with business development services, an accelerator, ideation hackathons, coding boot camps, Inter-University Innovation Challenge and more. Teddy Ruge, cofounder of the hub noted that it is important to extend these services to the rest of the country since there are many innovators and creators outside the Kampala Metro. Traction over the years
Hive Colab has provided affordable collaborative work spaces and an incubation hub for innovators and entrepreneurs since 2010. The space has been home to over 300 individuals and startups many of which out grew the space to get their own premises. Over $2M has been raised for startups at the space with We Farm raising $1M. Among the prominent startups that passed through or are still at Hive is SulaPay, Twambale, Africa’s Talking, Makanika.com, Yoza, Access Mobile, School Plus, Air Save, We Farm and of course Dignited.
